5 Creative Ways to Be Generous in the Last 10 Nights
Assalamu Alaikum girlie! 💐
The last 10 nights of Ramadan are creeping in, and you already know—they’re the most blessed nights of the year. Laylatul Qadr could be any one of them, and every good deed during this time is multiplied beyond imagination. But generosity isn’t just about money. It’s about impact.
If you want to give but feel like you don’t have much to offer, or you’re looking for ways to maximize your rewards in these final nights, here are creative ways to be generous—with your wealth, your time, and your heart.
1. Leave a Surprise Gift for Someone in Need
There’s something special about receiving an unexpected gift—especially when it’s exactly what you needed. Get creative with your giving by thinking about who in your community could use a little extra joy.
💡 Leave a grocery gift card in the mailbox of a struggling family.
💡 Drop off a Ramadan care package with dates, snacks, and a heartfelt note for a student or a single parent.
💡 Anonymously pay for someone’s order at a halal restaurant or coffee shop.
Giving doesn’t have to be grand to be meaningful. A small, thoughtful gesture can make someone’s night.
You can use your online presence as a tool for generosity! Instead of just scrolling, why not actively share goodness?
💡 Post links to trustworthy charities and fundraisers so others can donate too. (like this vetted one that is to support our brothers & sisters in Palestine🇵🇸)
💡 Share a small business run by a Muslim woman—your recommendation could boost her sales!
💡 Send personal messages of encouragement and duas to people who might be struggling.
Abu Mas'ud al-Ansari said رضي الله عنه the Prophet ﷺ said, “One who guides to something good has a reward similar to that of its doer.” (Sahih Muslim) So every donation, act of kindness, or good deed that happens because of your post? You share in the reward bithnillah.
3. Give Beyond Money: Time, Skills & Thoughtful Acts
Sometimes, the most meaningful forms of generosity don’t involve money at all. Hudhaifa and Abu Shaiba رضي الله عنهما reported that the Messenger ﷺ said, “Every act of goodness is sadaqah.” (Sahih Muslim)
💡 Cook or share an iftar meal. Drop off a home-cooked meal to a neighbor, a revert sister, or someone who might be eating alone. If cooking isn’t your thing, even sharing store-bought snacks!
💡If you have parents or elders who don’t use online donation platforms, help them set up a donation plan.
💡Offer your skills. Whether it’s tutoring, helping with job applications, or fixing something around the house, your expertise can be a huge blessing for someone else.
💡Give your time. Babysit for a mom so she can focus on worship, help an elderly person with errands, or volunteer at the masjid to clean up after Taraweeh.

4. Pay Off a Stranger’s Bill Without Them Knowing
One of the most beautiful forms of generosity is when the giver and the receiver never meet. If you’re able, try these creative ways to help someone out:
💡 Go to your local halal grocery store or café and quietly pay off a small balance for someone in need.
💡 If you see someone counting pennies at checkout, step in and cover it.
💡 Call a utility company and ask if you can make a small anonymous payment on someone’s overdue bill.
These small, hidden acts of generosity remind us that our rizq is in Allah’s hands, and sometimes, we are just the means for delivering someone else’s blessing.
5. Make an Intention to Give—Even If You Can’t Right Now
Maybe you’re in a season where giving money isn’t an option, and that’s okay. Generosity starts with intention, and the Prophet ﷺ taught us that even wanting to give can bring reward.
💡 Make a sincere dua: “Ya Allah, if I had more, I would give more. Provide for me so I can provide for others.”
💡 Commit to a future act of generosity, like setting aside $5 every week after Ramadan for sadaqah.
💡 Pledge to donate time instead—volunteer at a local charity or help organize a community event.
Allah sees the sincerity in our hearts, and He rewards based on intention. Even if you can’t give today, your niyyah can still earn you reward Inshaa Allah.
Bonus point: Automate your donations
Many platforms like Spot Project allow you to set up automatic donations for the last 10 nights, so you maximize your chances of giving on Laylatul Qadr.
Sis, your generosity can go beyond the dollar bills you drop off at the masjid donation box. These last 10 nights are an opportunity to give in diverse and meaningful ways, to make sure that no matter your circumstances, you can walk into Eid knowing you maximized your rewards.
May Allah accept all of our giving, bless us in this life and the next, and allow us to witness Laylatul Qadr in a state of deep worship.💛

Fatimah
