Step-by-Step Guide: How to Align Your Finances with Your Faith
First thing’s first, we spend money on the things we value. Take a look at your budget- you’ll quickly learn what your real values are.
Here’s how you can better align your finances with your faith as a Muslimah.
Step 1: Reflect on the Islamic teachings regarding wealth and its purpose in our lives. Understand the concept of wealth as a trust from Allah and the responsibility to use it wisely.
Step 2: Evaluate your financial habits and investments in light of Islamic principles. Think about the permissibility of certain financial transactions and investments according to Shariah guidelines.

Step 3: Prioritize charity as a fundamental aspect of your monthly budget. Allocate a portion of your income for charity and seek other ways to give back to those in need (beyond money).
Step 4: Be moderate in spending and lifestyle choices. Don’t be stingy or wasteful in spending, (you can still enjoy the lattes & go on your shopping spree🤩)
Step 5: Educate yourself on halal investment options and ethical financial practices. Seek guidance from trusted scholars and financial advisors who understand Islamic finance.
Pro tip: do lots of istighfaar (i.e. say astaghfirullah) and see how it’ll change your life Inshaa Allah. You’ll thank me later
Week 4 Generosity Challenge
**try one of these this week**
Volunteer to supervise the young children at the masjid during taraweeh (if you’re able to).
Take bottles of water to the masjid and offer it to others after taraweeh.
Establish a community fund to assist struggling families with essential expenses, such as rent, utilities, and medical bills. People could donate $5 or even $100, so much can happen when we come together.
Pro tip: Encourage your community members to contribute to the fund, fostering a sense of collective responsibility and support.
