6 Tips to Save Money & Eat Healthy

1. Plan Ahead & Shop Smart 📝
Planning your meals in advance isn’t just about saving time—it’s about saving money too! Take a few minutes each week to plan your meals based on what’s on sale.

Look for items you can use in multiple meals, like beans, rice, or chicken. Write a shopping list and STICK TO IT. This way, you avoid impulse buys and make sure you’re buying only what you need.

Don’t forget to check out grocery store apps and websites for coupons and discounts before heading out!😉

2. Buy In-Season Produce 🌱
Buying in-season produce isn’t just cheaper—it’s tastier too! When fruits and veggies are in season, stores usually have an abundance of them, which brings prices down.

Not sure what’s in season? Apps like Seasonal Food Guide can help you figure out which fruits and vegetables are at their peak in your area.

Bonus: In-season produce is often more nutrient-rich since it’s fresher! Best of both world right?🙌

3. Buy in Bulk 📦
Certain items, especially pantry staples like rice, pasta, and lentils, can be bought in bulk at a lower price. If you have the storage space, stock up! Look for stores like Costco, Sam’s Club, BJ’s, or Restaurant Depot for great savings.

Bulk shopping is also great for meat—many stores offer discounts on family-sized packs. If you buy more than you need, freeze the extras for later. It’s a great way to save money and time in the long run.

Of course the rule of thumb still applies: don’t spend money to save money.

4. Cook at Home & Meal Prep 👩‍🍳
Eating out is tempting, but those restaurant bills add up FAST. Hate to break it to you, but you might literally be eating away your financial stability!

Cooking at home is one of the easiest ways to save money. Plus, meal prepping ensures you always have something healthy and homemade ready to go.

Try dedicating one day a week to cooking in batches and freezing portions for later. It’ll save you from those last-minute unhealthy pizza orders (no judgement🌚)! 🍕

5. Avoid Food Waste & Repurpose Leftovers ♻️
We waste so much food without realizing it, which is basically throwing money away! Instead of letting leftovers sit in the fridge, find ways to repurpose them.

For example, roast chicken can turn into chicken salad or a hearty soup the next day. Get creative in the kitchen and watch how much less food (and money) you waste!

6. Shop Online for Groceries 🌟
Many stores now offer online grocery shopping with pickup or delivery options. This can help you stick to your list and avoid impulse buys. Plus, you can compare prices more easily!🧐
