Step-by-Step Guide: Zakat
Step 1: Learn about the conditions that make zakat obligatory on your wealth, such as reaching the nisab (minimum threshold).
Step 2: Calculate your zakatable assets (more info in the video below).
Step 3: Determine the zakat due on your wealth, typically 2.5% of your wealth.
Step 4: Share your knowledge with friends, family members, and your community to educate them on the basics of the zakat obligation.
Pro tip: Seek guidance from knowledgeable scholars or reputable organizations to ensure your zakat calculations are accurate.

Week 2 Generosity Challenge
**try one of these this week**
Host a virtual iftar for friends and family who may be far away. (especially those in college- this could be a lonely time for them)
Volunteer at a local charity organization to support their efforts in distributing zakat to those in need.
Organize a fundraiser or charity event within your community to collect zakat donations for impactful projects.
Pro tip: Involve your children in acts of generosity to instill the value of zakat from a young age.
