5 travel tips for you

Assalamu Alaikum girlie 💐

Soo… the sun’s out, PTO is stacking, and the urge to book a trip is very real. Whether it’s a solo reset, a weekend with the girls, or a family trip for Eid, summer is the perfect time to travel.

But you know what’s not cute?

Coming back home to chaos because you didn’t plan with your money in mind. 👀

Let’s fix that.

Here are 5 tips to financially prep for your summer travels without killing the vibe:

The 5 Travel Tips

📝Calculate the real cost of your trip

It’s not just the flight and hotel.

  Transportation to/from the airport

  Baggage fees

Food (yes, even the halal wings at 2am)

Misc expenses like tips, parking, etc

  Ubers, excursions, random shopping

Pro tip: Add a 20% buffer to whatever number you come up with. Things will pop up.

💰 Set a Trip Budget Based on Your Life, Not Your Travel Groups’

Just because your travel buddies want to stay at a bougie resort doesn’t mean you need to match that energy (if you can’t- if yiu can then go for it!😌)

Ask yourself:

What’s my actual spending capacity right now?

What tradeoffs am I willing to make (if any)?

Will this trip delay or derail my other goals?

It’s okay to say: “I’ll come, but I’m staying 3 nights instead of 5” — or even to say “not this time.”

 Money-Saving Travel Hacks (Halal Edition)

Fly mid-week or use price trackers (like Google Flights)

Opt for Airbnb with a kitchen so you can cook some meals

Don’t overspend on souvenirs - get something you’ll love

If traveling with friends, split a ride pass or group tour for discounts

Download local Muslim-friendly restaurant finders in advance

 Use tech to your advantage.

There are sooo many apps that can help you save money and stress. I rounded up a few I personally use and recommend - flights, hotels, itinerary management, halal food spots and more.

🧠 Don’t Let Guilt (or FOMO) Win

You don’t have to choose between being “fun” and being “financially responsible.”

You can be the girl who travels and knows how to manage her money with confidence and ease.
