The Big Move (and What’s Next for Finance Girlie)

Assalamu Alaikum girlie 💐

Time to let the cat out of the bag:

Finance Girlie has made hijrah.

Where? The motherland - Gambia 🇬🇲 .

This move was a huge leap of faith because it marks the start of not one but two big shifts in my life:

 1. Moving out of the U.S. for good

 2. Going all in on Finance Girlie

This wasn’t an overnight decision. I’ve been sitting with it, praying on it, and preparing (mostly in my head) for months. And even now, being here feels surreal.

On one hand, I’m navigating the very real adjustments - a new routine, different culture, figuring out where the best coffee spots are (send help). On the other hand? I feel this deep sense of calm, like I finally took the step my heart’s been nudging me toward.

Our zip code might be different but the mission, audience, and goals are still the same!

“So… what’s next?”

That’s the #1 question you girlies have been asking. And the answer? Growth, freedom, and patience!

This move isn’t just a personal shift, it’s giving Finance Girlie the space to grow in ways I couldn’t before. We have some amazing projects and collaborations coming to help you get right with your money (without the guilt, confusion, or un-Islamic nonsense). 

I can’t spill all the tea just yet, but when I say we’re moving big and fast, I mean it 1000% Inshaa Allah

Workshops and some conversations you’ve definitely been waiting for are on the way.

So keep an eye on your inbox, because you won’t want to miss what’s next.

“So… are you ever coming back to the U.S.?”

In short? Maybe.

Unless I’m visiting family, for a big business event… or, one of you guys’ wedding/ aqeeqah 🙃. But actually living there again? It’s not on my radar.

And when I do have those little moments of doubt (because yes, we all have them), I remember the statement of Allah:

وَمَن يُهَاجِرْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ يَجِدْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُرَٰغَمًۭا كَثِيرًۭا وَسَعَةًۭ

“And whoever emigrates for the cause of Allāh will find on the earth many [alternative] locations and abundance.”

(Surah An-Nisa, 4:100)

This ayah keeps me grounded, reminding me that provision, barakah, and peace come from Him - not a zip code.
